Function 

My piece is a cocktail table, which is located in the center of the living room. I focused to make a unique design that can be an art piece. People eat, and drink in the living room, and also spend most of the time there when the guests come. They want to show off their furniture, and the cocktail table is one of the best shows of furniture. The Cocktail table is one of the accent pieces because of their usual location and function. So, it can make a conversation point of interest.

Form 

Try to make a cool piece, it made with natural unusual form, and used non-traditional material. Geodes seem to have of different color and different texture, and make a rough color gradation in one piece. I slightly changed this concept, and tried to make an organic shape, which has a hole in the center. All the sizes are very different, so one can see the steps from the center hole, and can see the color variation on the top.  

Material 

Colored transparent plastics and non-transparent plastics make the color variation part. Especially, in one part, I used casting epoxy resin and tried to put some fabric rolls in it to show the rolling movement. Plus at the bottom part the mirror is placed to reflect the steps’ colors. All the steps side, bottom, and leg used metal material to feel modern, and also helps reflect colors on the bottom. Of course, there is a glass table top, this saves the space of hole-part and still can make to see the steps.
