IIDA BOOTH
The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) booth Design
IIDA is the Commercial Interior Design Association with a global reach. They pursue at IIDA is to integrate diverse cultures together with great design.
Concept
The concept of my IIDA booth is Yggdrasil, which is the Mythical tree that connects the nine worlds in Norse myth. This modern booth connects the space with forms of the branches spreading from the tree trunk located at the center. I want to show various types of spaces where people can connect. Each space feels private but united. The trend of global design focuses on a natural, organic style that comes from people who want to pursue a relaxed lifestyle. Integrating global cultures with Scandinavian modern design and using fresh materials is what this booth design brings to IIDA. This relaxed style allows for communication in the conference area, lounge area, and bar. There are spaces where people can meet and share idea.
Design
The tree forms a border with branches, creating a space between branches that can be seen from all directions. I have blended panels, strategically to balance empty and blocked space. Open space is used to view inside the room and allow visitors to see beyond the booth. In this booth, the lighting is located in the center of the tree trunk, and dramatically shows the clear shape of the branches spreading, and their different heights. Moreover, the color palette is kept simple for a modern look, with an eye toward nature.
